Cooking Anyone? Try “Weekend Table” blog….

So I was perusing some of the Mommy blogs (there’s only about 5 million) and came across “Weekend Table” written by a mommy, lawyer, and self-proclaimed amateur cook from Connecticut. She loves to entertain in her free time and shares her recipes on her blog. The recipes are diverse-from main dishes to sides to desserts, etc. There’s even a gluten-free section of recipes. I realized recently that I only have a handful of “go-to” favorites in my repertoire of personal creations and one of those is “mac-mac” (yea,…

Swiss Army Knife Moms by Ramon Presson

A friend & colleague of mine, Ramon Presson, posted this on our No Mommy’s Perfect Facebook Group.  I asked his permission to repost here for all to enjoy.   This is my first day in 3 weeks, including weekends, that I haven’t been counseling, traveling, speaking, researching, or feverishly writing, and I can tell that I don’t know how to relax this morning. One Of The Secrets to Motherhood

Back in the day, when my then fiancee and I were attending premarital counseling, I remember asking our facilitator what she thought was the secret to becoming  a happy spouse.  Expecting the heavens to depart with words filled with depth of knowledge dating back to Confucious, I was surprised  at the simplicity of her answer.  Yet, looking back, I think it also could be termed one of the secrets to being a happy mother. As a therapist, I could offer the standard importance of self care, taking time for yourself and letting go of expectations.  And while all of these are…
