Recently, I saw a funny cartoon entitled “The Seven Dwarves of Menopause” and they were duly named: Itchy, Bitchy, Sweaty, Sleepy, Bloated, Forgetful and Psycho! Having experienced all these states, I’m either approaching early menopause, or it’s some deep seated anxiety about my birthday! This birthday I can’t say I’m in my early anything anymore. I think the old-fashioned, polite phrase would be to describe me as a woman of indeterminate age. Happy Leap Year Birthday!


Today is February 29th, the day that comes around every 4 years.  What will you be doing today?  Many will be enjoying the gift of an extra 24 hours to do something special.  However,  we wanted to hear stories from moms who will be celebrating this special birthday.   Let’s hear them!

Half Birthdays For Summer Babies


Birthdays are so much fun for kids. One of the things that makes them so special for kids is celebrating with their friends at school. However, kids born in the summer often miss out on this experience. Recently, one of my daughter’s teachers recognized this need and came up with a solution. She started celebrating “Half Birthdays” on the six month anniversary for students born in the summer. So if someone’s birthday was August 1, they had a class party on February 1. Isn’t that clever!
